It’s no secret we love us a good race, especially a good race with a good friend. Just this past Sunday, our fellow gear head and pro racer Alex Laughlin took a big win at the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida. In what was said to be one of the “crazier final rounds in recent memory,” the final race brought Laughlin against racer Aaron Stanfield on the track.
While both cars brought their all, it was Laughlin that was able to recover from shaky tires and regain control first, thus sealing his fate as the winner of the NHRA Finals. It’s been quite the exciting weekend!

Sunday definitely made up for Laughlin’s loss last year, where he lost this exact same race due to an engine burnout. His win this year brought a well-deserved trophy and storybook ending to the Gatornationals arc. In an interview with Drag Illustrated, Laughlin states, “It couldn’t have played out any better, getting the win this year…I told my guys on the radio we were good to go. I just went into raceday feeling like it was our day.”
With the day really being his, it’s important to note the changes that gave Laughlin the edge to victory. With a near new crew and a new set of teammates, Laughlin brought a new routine to the race that really paid off. With fantastic reaction time and team synchronicity, we’re proud to support and be a part of that very crew.
